Profile
The Honey Deuce is the official signature cocktail of the U.S. Open, widely loved for its refreshing, fruity flavor and its unique garnish of honeydew melon balls resembling tennis balls. Originally crafted by mixologist Nick Mautone, this cocktail blends vodka, lemonade, and a touch of black raspberry liqueur to create a light, summery drink that has become a cultural icon, especially during the tennis tournament.
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 oz Grey Goose vodka
- 3 oz fresh lemonade
- 1/2 oz Chambord (black raspberry liqueur)
- Honeydew melon balls (for garnish)
Steps
- Prepare the Garnish: Using a melon baller, scoop out small honeydew melon balls. These will serve as the “tennis balls” garnish.
- Mix the Base: In a tall glass filled with crushed ice, pour in the Grey Goose vodka and lemonade. Stir gently to combine.
- Add the Chambord: Drizzle the Chambord on top. This black raspberry liqueur adds a touch of sweetness and a pop of color to the drink.
- Garnish and Serve: Skewer the honeydew melon balls and place them on top of the drink as a garnish. Serve immediately and enjoy!
